Turbo Timer?

3599 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  ProfessorX
Hello all. I'm new to the forum guys and I read in the owner's manual (page 168) in which it indicated a recommendation to have the engine idle for 1 minute. This is after high speed driving before shutting engine off. Reading this leads me to believe a turbo timer should be installed to shut down the engine automatically. Any thoughts / information on this?

I have the NX200T model for those with this engine.

Any turbo engine should be let to rest between 1-5 minutes depending on how long your drive was, operating temperatures, etc. Usually manufacturers don't install them, Audi main example, but for your convenience it is recommended to get one installed. If the manual recommends to leave it running, I'm almost positive there is no turbo timer installed from factory.
