You have people from both camps...some want big cover, other want to see everything (thus, easier to work on).Looking at the engine bay, sometimes i think they should just put one big engine cover over it all to make it look better and maybe have flaps for the crankcase, coolant, etc

How I see it, the engine doesn't look that appealing. It's only worth it to leave it all this exposed when it's a performance model or something with a nice looking high output engine. You have people from both camps...some want big cover, other want to see everything (thus, easier to work on).
I am OK either way. It seems that a big cover may help with decreasing engine noise.
But if the cover helps quell engine noise, then I am all for it.well considering probably 100% of all NX owners won't ever look under the hood I think its a relatively insignificant complaint. Big covers become a PITA for techs too, they work flat rate, meaning every second counts and if they have to fiddle with an engine cover to get at the spark plugs its a time suck and completely unnecessary just to satisfy a couple of "the engine is ugly comments". This just in, all engines are ugly. You may think some are pretty from an anorak standpoint, but they're all just hunks of metal with holes in them...
The more the merrier! There is no such thing as too much noise insulation for a Lexus! In that case they would just use that lining they always use on the underside of the hood. That makes a difference
It's going to be hard to compare because both use different engines.im guessing the engine is quiet? or hoping?
because if the NX has more engine noise than the RX just because of this reason.. that would suck
