The main thing that deters me from the Discovery Sport is what I have heard about the reliability and quality. When compared to Lexus, the two vehicles are at completely opposite ends of the spectrum.

I'm part of a real estate agent/investor network and notice more and more of them are jumping into SUV's, some looking at the NX but end up jumping right to an LR/RR product. The Discovery Sport being a popular one for ones on the lower earning bracket.

I suppose I am mostly going off of the JD Quality Survey. I don't put too much weight in the survey, but I do consider it meaningful if brands do really well, or really poorly.

That's where your problem is, basing assumptions mostly off of one source does no good. At the end of the day people who really want the LR will buy it, LR's and RR's have that sort of status.
