Lexus has confirmed that the production version of the Lexus NX will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show. That is April 20th.

“The LF-NX Concept, presented last year in Frankfurt, showed the Lexus design direction for a mid-size crossover, positioned below our RX,” said Lexus Europe boss Alain Uyttenhoven, speaking in Geneva today. “Today I can confirm that Lexus will reveal this unique crossover in less than 50 days. The world premiere will take place on April 20, at the Beijing Motor Show.”
The Lexus NX will enter a segment that has been building steadily in recent years. It seems like every other company already has a vehicle in the CUV segment.

I think that there will be a hybrid and turbocharged model at the Beijing Auto Show. With all the supposed leaks, there is plenty of anticipation for this reveal.

Knowing that the NX will be revealed in Beijing (which I find a little odd TBH) I'm sure the teaser images will come out a bit before that. So early April we should see some leaked images or official promo shots or something. Lexus will want to generate hype approaching the reveal date.

Is anybody else wondering why Lexus has decided to debut the NX in Beijing and not in NYC, which has its motor show happening at the same time as Beijing? It seems to me that the NYC motor show is a bigger deal so why not show it off there?

I think that Lexus and Toyota has a harder time selling in China since the Chinese generally aren't the biggest fans of Japan. Maybe they are trying extra hard to push their products there to overcome this. Do you think that the design of the NX looks like it is geared towards China? Wouldn't they also be releasing a long wheel base version if they want to do well in China too?
