Lexus NX 300h "Phoenix"

While scouring the Russian car sites, autoevolution stumbled upon a modded Lexus NX 300h. A Russian tuner company called AMGAR American Garage decided to take a shot at the NX 300h and the project was named “Phoenix”. Their previous projects include a few Dodge Challengers, a Discovery and an old Astra GTC. By choosing to go with a Lexus for their next project shows us just how popular the Japanese luxury brand is becoming in Russia.

The Lexus NX 300h has an engine that’s hard to tune thanks to its odd combustion cycle and lack of a turbocharger. Not many companies wanted to take on the challenge and AMGAR was not about to try either. Instead, they moved their sights towards the car’s suspension and other performance mods.

New shocks and springs were installed along with a set of HP calipers and brakes. A few of you may recognize the Vossen alloy wheels. They’ve been painted the same orange as the body and paired with a set of performance tires.

The styling has also received an update with an extra chin splitter, black mesh grille, carbon inserts for the air intakes, tinted headlights, side skirts and painted fender flares to match the rest of the body. Its rear has been updated with tinted lights, trunk spoilers and a skirt.

Of course, no modded Japanese luxury SUV is complete without a photoshoot in the middle of the woods with a model dressed in a kimono holding a sword.

What do you think of the modded Lexus NX 300h?

I think it was better stock, get a poll going on this and i'm sure a small percent of people here will actually like it.
IMO , it looks too UGLY... I would take the Subaru Crosstrek design over this anytime

To me it's not even that, it's the fact of the horrible choice of color along with the ugly wheels and body kit, especially the body color and body kit. I've seen far better looking NX's.

Agree,,, the NX design is C+ but IMO acceptable, accept the color of this NX, not for me, looks so weird.... To me, the best (design) crossover SUV at present is the the Porches Macan an MB GLC ,,, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholders

Too much going on here in my opinion. The color is pretty cool, and might look ok if some of the body work is removed. For example, I think the rear additions around the exhaust could be pared down and the rims could be made black instead of orange. The extra work around the wheel arches also seems like overkill.

On a very mild level, TRD is great:

And on a more 'extreme' level is the Will I Am Lexus NX:

I like white NX.... as my 320 MB is white, for sure it's easier to keep clean than darker color
The TRD one in my opinion is the best. Not too crazy, but enough to stand out a bit
