While scouring the Russian car sites, autoevolution stumbled upon a modded Lexus NX 300h. A Russian tuner company called AMGAR American Garage decided to take a shot at the NX 300h and the project was named “Phoenix”. Their previous projects include a few Dodge Challengers, a Discovery and an old Astra GTC. By choosing to go with a Lexus for their next project shows us just how popular the Japanese luxury brand is becoming in Russia.
The Lexus NX 300h has an engine that’s hard to tune thanks to its odd combustion cycle and lack of a turbocharger. Not many companies wanted to take on the challenge and AMGAR was not about to try either. Instead, they moved their sights towards the car’s suspension and other performance mods.
New shocks and springs were installed along with a set of HP calipers and brakes. A few of you may recognize the Vossen alloy wheels. They’ve been painted the same orange as the body and paired with a set of performance tires.

The styling has also received an update with an extra chin splitter, black mesh grille, carbon inserts for the air intakes, tinted headlights, side skirts and painted fender flares to match the rest of the body. Its rear has been updated with tinted lights, trunk spoilers and a skirt.
Of course, no modded Japanese luxury SUV is complete without a photoshoot in the middle of the woods with a model dressed in a kimono holding a sword.

What do you think of the modded Lexus NX 300h?
