Lexus Europe had much to celebrate when its Q1 sales were announced. The brand has achieved its best Q1 sales result ever! Lexus Europe saw its sales increase 37% when compared to the same period last year for a total of 15,800 units.

There were two major factors in Lexus Europe's sales growth. The first is a substantial increase in Lexus hybrid sales. Lexus hybrid sales increased 40% in Q1 to 10,600 units. This confirms the growing demand for hybrid technology in Europe. Lexus Hybrid Drive represents 67% of total Lexus sales further showing that hybrid technology is on the rise.

The other thing that contributed massively to Lexus Europe's success was the Lexus NX. The NX sold 6,500 units in Q1. That number represents 40% of Lexus sales for the period.

Karl Schlicht, executive vice-president of Toyota Motor Europe said, "Lexus delivered an impressive year on year growth thanks to strong demand for our more recent models, and better availability."

These sales results put Lexus on track to reach its goal of selling 60,000 units this year. And to think, its almost half thanks to the NX. :D

Remaining at this level... no. There's always going to be a big peak when the vehicle first becomes available, after that big rush to get it, then things slow down
RX has always been strong, I wouldn't expect a massive drop off, supply is tight though which should help keep consistent numbers churning for at least another year...

I'm not even sure if I've seen many NXs on the road at all in my city. Remember that these numbers are for Europe though. The story in the US may be quite different. I would think that the US is less likely to buy hybrid than Europe.

You'll want to look up the numbers to see what they've been. Check LexusEnthusiast, this forum, Lexus or some publications.
