It will be cool once we see exactly what this is. Lexus is a great brand so hopefully they don't disappoint. Depending on the pricing, I would consider it. We'll just have to wait and see.

Pebble beach starts on August 17th, so 10 more days!

Sometimes these programs can just seem like a cash grab that doesn't actually give you much extra. I think its difficult to sell some people on packages like this since many feel as though these features and extras should just be offered as part of an options package or trim level instead.

I can't say it's a cash grab, it's a horrible cash grab, they can find many more better ways to go about that than this.

Not sure if you ever bought a special edition model or have had any interest in them but people buy them to stand out, be different, own something special, etc...

Depending on what this turns out being like it could be very well worth the money to those that like and can afford it.

I think that for the average Lexus customer, these special editions deliver exactly what they want...thus, Lexus able to sell every single one of them.

But, for enthusiasts (such as us forum members), these special editions are just different color lipstick...and thus, may not be special enough. Most of us want some substantial upgrade to either suspension or powertrain before we call it a special edition.

Personally, i belong to the enthusiast crowd....

Depending on what the special edition has, you might see a good portion of them on the forums. For example the sport design package that was available a while ago, it was very popular with enthusiasts, the one's you'd find on a forum like this.

you're also more likely to lose money on soft special editions. Rare SE's will see their value increase over time (potentially) But soft SE's simply carrier a higher price tag and because its not exactly rare you get dinged harder on dep...
