Fresh out of the box.......Is there anything this vehicle does not do well? My NX300h is perfect. Steering transmits just enough.....certainly not numb. Total absence of torque steer. Gas mileage is higher than stated on regular grade fuel. Seat ventilation that I can actually feel. Zero rattles or vibrations. Most pleased. My only negative: I wish the presets on satellite radio would identify station name, rather than station number. I have zero hesitation in fully recommending this vehicle, early in its first year of production.

Wow...nice! Lexus does things right...when it comes down to details.
How long have you been driving your NX? I just figure that we need a bit longer to figure out everything about the NX.

Lexus has such a reputation for quality that I'm not that worried about things not working properly. Some have said that its not the most fun to drive though.
Beautiful, excellent endorsement. More reports like this and I'm going to run out of excuses ;) welcome to the site :D
What other vehicles were you looking at aside from the NX?
Those are good questions.....and I'll try to be direct. I am not gloating! You asked. Do I share with you that my 2014 S 550 was actually bought back? I had named it "The Rattler;" I had renamed "Keyless Go," "KEYLESS WOE." OK? It was a concerto of creaks and rattles and wierd noises such as the front seat air bladders inflating and deflating, and soft close doors emitting random sounds. Thus....I went in armed with iPhone video. I recorded everything. I even recorded the head foreman along with the service manager during my demonstration of seven individual issues. I would state "Could you live with this?" "Would you feel comfortable having your dash torn down?" Their reports stated "customer states that....," but I had all of their answers recorded, along with the flaws of this car visually recorded.

I tried another German brand....a 2015 X5. Nice SUV....tight, but the standard adaptive xenons shed a very yellow hue. Glad I tried it out at night. Very different than the non upgraded standard LEDs on the NX300h.

My fun car is a 2015 Mini (non S) with the new made by BMW 3 cylinder engine. It's a lot of fun.....one time per week I need to silicon spray the seals of the windows. Takes care of the issue. I can live with it.

I've had a few Lexus cars through the years. Found them dependable, but boring. The NX handles well; is luxurious; and fits me like a glove. It's terrific to drive. It's been two weeks and 1,100 miles. And I'm not bored at all. No hesitations in recommending the NX 300 h.

Very nice explanation. I have had my share of Germans...always things going bad. ****, on my last one (G500), it is built to be the toughest thing on the planet...but after off-roading, the engine mount cracked! Germans cannot get their window mechanism correct...always failing. My prior BMW M3 would lock me INSIDE the car randomly!! I had to roll down window and reach outside to pull on the outside door handle to escape!

I am done with Germans.
thats confusing, on my 335d pulling the inside handle releases the lock. unless you mean the inside door handle didnt work, which is different then getting locked in..
Yes.......Lexus cars (and service) makes me feel as though I'm on a vacation. It's nice to not waste time feeling as though I'm part of the "Beta" program. The NX purchase hammered in the message.

The inside door handle would not work. Thus, i had to roll down the window and pull the outside door handle to get out. Random occurrence too. Never reproduced it when i brought it into BMW.
Hello there, not a Lexus owner but interested in owning an NX. Currently drive a '10 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD and while it has a few features that the NX doesn't have, the NX does have newer features/technology that my Volvo doesn't have.

If any of you existing owners can share feedback on how you find the infotainment and Navigation whether easy to use/navigate regarding the touchpad would be much appreciated. Honestly, am quite happy with my Volvo as it has been a reliable and safe vehicle for us however looking to update to possibly a Lexus/NX as main considerations are am not happy with the service with our only local Volvo dealer where I live.

Not sure if after sales service matters to most people but it does matter to me....

Thanks in advance for any replies!
@tekbis any reason for not sticking with Volvo? Anything you don't like about what the brand currently offers?

It's not that I don't really like the Volvo anymore...styling is nice, very safe and solid vehicle however where I live which is way up north that has lots of snow and really cold weather during winter, we are starting to miss/look for features that our CUV doesn't have like heated steering wheel, remote engine start, updated infotainment, built in Navigation, tire pressure monitoring system, and a more fuel efficient engine as ours is a 3.0L I-6 cyl Turbo AWD that only gets 15MPG-18MPG city driving!

Also, like I posted earlier, we are just not happy and satisfied with the only local Volvo dealer in our area and I've heard of good feedback from other dealer/brands like BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, Lexus that have way better service than Volvo. Unfortunately, the local dealer here doesn't do justice with the Volvo brand as they also handle Land Rover and Jaguar.

Any helpful feedback will help as our car is turning 5yrs in 2 mos and might be the right time to trade in (if ever) to still get a good resale value out of it. The newer XC60 comes in the I-4 2.0L Turbo that gets way better MPG but they only come in FWD and we really prefer the AWD given our winters here...we are also considering BMW X3 with 2.0L Turbo AWD with similar MPG numbers with the Lexus NX but the options just get really expensive as well as I'm hesitant with the run flat tires...at least with NX there is a donut spare tire included

Good reason for going Lexus. Volvo has some nice vehicles. Never been a fan of what they have but that's also due in part to me not taking much of an interest in what they sell.

Design alone of their vehicles throw me off, but out of all the XC60 is what i like most.
Question: Did anyone ever effectively cool a Volvo, any Volvo, on a hot humid day?
For me, Volvo styling is just not me. Is Volvo still owned by Ford??

From all the dependability surveys, Volvo is still well below average...i think that Volvo only call in life is safety...but with other car manufacturers getting up to speed, this gap in safety perception is fading quickly.

For me in the past, Volvo is all about safety and Dynaudio audio system. That's it.

No longer owned by Ford, was bought out by Geely (Chinese company) back in late 2010...in fairness to Volvo they make good vehicles that lasts and one impt thing I like about the brand aside from having the highest crash and safety rating than other manufacturers is that their vehicles have a market niche and are not very popular or common. The BMs, Mercs, Audi, Lexus and Infiniti are more popular than Volvo but when you drive one you also see a lot of the same vehicles on the road.

You are right about the technology and safety gap as being close now vs the competition...
