Wow...nice! Lexus does things right...when it comes down to details.
Very nice explanation. I have had my share of Germans...always things going bad. ****, on my last one (G500), it is built to be the toughest thing on the planet...but after off-roading, the engine mount cracked! Germans cannot get their window mechanism correct...always failing. My prior BMW M3 would lock me INSIDE the car randomly!! I had to roll down window and reach outside to pull on the outside door handle to escape! Those are good questions.....and I'll try to be direct. I am not gloating! You asked. Do I share with you that my 2014 S 550 was actually bought back? I had named it "The Rattler;" I had renamed "Keyless Go," "KEYLESS WOE." OK? It was a concerto of creaks and rattles and wierd noises such as the front seat air bladders inflating and deflating, and soft close doors emitting random sounds. Thus....I went in armed with iPhone video. I recorded everything. I even recorded the head foreman along with the service manager during my demonstration of seven individual issues. I would state "Could you live with this?" "Would you feel comfortable having your dash torn down?" Their reports stated "customer states that....," but I had all of their answers recorded, along with the flaws of this car visually recorded.
I tried another German brand....a 2015 X5. Nice SUV....tight, but the standard adaptive xenons shed a very yellow hue. Glad I tried it out at night. Very different than the non upgraded standard LEDs on the NX300h.
My fun car is a 2015 Mini (non S) with the new made by BMW 3 cylinder engine. It's a lot of fun.....one time per week I need to silicon spray the seals of the windows. Takes care of the issue. I can live with it.
I've had a few Lexus cars through the years. Found them dependable, but boring. The NX handles well; is luxurious; and fits me like a glove. It's terrific to drive. It's been two weeks and 1,100 miles. And I'm not bored at all. No hesitations in recommending the NX 300 h.
The inside door handle would not work. Thus, i had to roll down the window and pull the outside door handle to get out. Random occurrence too. Never reproduced it when i brought it into BMW.thats confusing, on my 335d pulling the inside handle releases the lock. unless you mean the inside door handle didnt work, which is different then getting locked in..
It's not that I don't really like the Volvo anymore...styling is nice, very safe and solid vehicle however where I live which is way up north that has lots of snow and really cold weather during winter, we are starting to miss/look for features that our CUV doesn't have like heated steering wheel, remote engine start, updated infotainment, built in Navigation, tire pressure monitoring system, and a more fuel efficient engine as ours is a 3.0L I-6 cyl Turbo AWD that only gets 15MPG-18MPG city driving!@tekbis any reason for not sticking with Volvo? Anything you don't like about what the brand currently offers?
For me, Volvo styling is just not me. Is Volvo still owned by Ford??
From all the dependability surveys, Volvo is still well below average...i think that Volvo only call in life is safety...but with other car manufacturers getting up to speed, this gap in safety perception is fading quickly.
For me in the past, Volvo is all about safety and Dynaudio audio system. That's it.
