Looking to do the nx first oil change. How many quarts does an nx take?

Thanks in advance!

I heard that the oil we get from the factory is specially blended for the break in process, so chances are following the recommended mileage is the best thing to do.
10K mileage oil change is good enough for synthetic oil. Dealer change my NT200h at 10K , why should it be any difference for Lexus NX. My '96 MB E-320 gets oil change - by me - at 10K-12K mileages interval

Do you ever inquire about knowing about whatever metal shaving show up? I know some guys filter the oil they drain to look at the metal shavings that show up.

No I don't, IMO it's a "want" to know, not a "need" to know... Having a Ph.D in Chem.Eng I asked myself "what do I do with the metal analysis result?". NONE.... IMO, fine metal particles would come out at the very early phase of the vehicle's life. I change oil of my 2007 Rav4 as well, around 10K miles, no more than 12K miles. When I was at NY University in 1976, a whole bunch of us in Chem Eng got excited about the new Mobil 1 Syn oil which was advertised for 25K miles oil change interval. For whatever reason, they don't advertise that anymore...
Cheers

Hey guys...new to the forum...just picked a Matador Red NX 200t today, and I was just wondering about the oil change question.

I like doing my own minor maintenance, so when it comes to fluids, plugs, brakes, rotation, and filters; oil, air, cabin, or fuel (if available)...i like to do it on my own. Nd owning turbo cars in the past, i have always replaced oil at roughly 5000 miles; and filter every 10000. I know some people doing it even more often, but i felt with newer technologies and better oil blends 5000 is more than reasonable to replace oil, especially living in NYC; ie stop & go traffic nd etc.

with that said anyone try yet or is everyone going to the dealership? plus i never really trust what these people, stealerships, put in my car. Had a bad experience with Nissan that made me stop bringing it to the dealership. Thanks again.
