The score between Lexus Sedans and Lexus SUV's. In July 2014 The GX, LX and RX accounted for 43% (11,861) of Lexus total US brand sales. Its possible the NX gives Lexus a desirable 50/50 split.

Of course nothing is gift wrapped, as we may see the aged RX losing volume to the not much smaller NX, at least until we see the RX grow...

who's stressed?

We're simply having a conversation about the brand we all seem to be passionate about. But if you insist...

What a 50/50 split indicates is that LExus has a nicely diversified portfolio of products that is touching on multiple nerves throughout the US auto industry. A SUV buyer is not the same as a sedan buyer, being able to reach and satisfy the needs of multiple types of clientele suggests a healthy company.

A skew like Acura has heavily towards the SUV side indicates not only product issues but brand perception issues.

But I suppose none of that should matter to a business?

What Mojo said, it's a simple conversation about the brand.

Continuing the topic.

I think it will be interesting to see how the NX will boost how much sales SUV's will have, we can guess what it will be like but how it will play out over time could very well surprise us depending on how much of a hit the NX is.

Do you think the NX will be a MAJOR hit?

I think the NX will be a major hit for Lexus. Unfortunately that will not play well when I go to buy one because they will not be so eager to bargain. That's life......
Yup, any smart dealer will be tough on not letting you get away with not paying their mark up. Either you pay up or wait and we all know how painful waiting can be :D
