Buzzing noise underneath NX while it’s off

Last night I parked my 2015 NX 200t F-Sport in my garage at about 4:30pm. At about 9:30pm I walked in my garage and heard a buzzing noise coming from underneath the NX somewhere near where the rears doors are located. I started the NX and pulled it outside the garage and shut it off. There wasn’t any more buzzing noise in the garage or under the NX. I pulled it back in the garage, shut it off and the noise was still gone. It sounded like a relay buzzing or a small pump running. I’ve heard that if you keep your Key FOB near some vehicles that certain devices may turn on before the vehicle is started but my FOB was nowhere near my NX.

Has anyone ever heard a noise like this coming from underneath their NX after it’s been parked and turned off for hours?

I would suspect that this is some form of emissions control. Many vehicles run different components for up to an hour or more after the vehicle is shut off. If this is constant and does not shut off then call your dealer.

Good answer. Not sure if it is true, but I was at a loss for what would be making noise after the car had turned off.

Wasn't aware they run for that long after. Going to pay attention to them more often now, listening in for any sounds. That might explain some things i've heard but couldn't say what.

I recently scheduled my annual vehicle inspection for next week and spoke to my service advisor about the noise. He said not to worry about it. There's some type of pump on the emission system and was probably venting the pressure out of the system. I'm not sure when the noise started but it was about 4 hours after the NX was shut off when I heard it. It's just hard to believe something would run or turn on that long after the NX was shut off. I still like my NX and really haven't had any major issues with it since I purchased it last March. I am looking at trading it in for another vehicle. So far, I'm looking at the Jaguar F Pace, Porsche Macan S, BMW X4M, BMW M2 (probably would trade it in by November) and a few others.

M2 is a really good options and there already is some saftermarket support going on so you'll have luck in that department come time to do that. if you do that sort of thing.
