The Lexus NX can play DVD movies

Just found this out. Total surprise for me. Didn't know it had this feature. Sorry if people already knew this but I just think this is so awesome.

I have not tried this yet. Is this true of all model (I don't have navigation)? I saw video on the screen but I have not popped in a DVD yet.

Most NX models equipped with a Lexus Navigation System should be able to play DVDs when the parking brake is on but you may want to consult your manual or just stick one in as a test.

Must be some way to get around not being able to play videos while in drive and i'm sure there might be some folks actively looking into this... might just be a matter of time for a solution to show up.

I believe that this thread is about playing DVD movies on the front screen.
Most rear seat entertainment systems can play for the rear seat occupants.

My post is about the front screen for the NX. Should work for everyone else if it worked for SierraM363.

They disable the video playing on the front screen because it is distracting to the driver, and I think that is true. If you get in an accident and they find a video was playing, it could definitely work against you.

It's distracting if the driver is watching too but I guess they won't accept that explanation if an accident does occur with the from player on.

That's what I meant, must be some way to get it to play no matter what you're doing with the vehicle. Seen it done with older vehilces, they trick the system in some way.

Don't blame me if you get in an accident but I found this
