Cargo Capacity

Hi everyone!

I'm in the market for a new SUV and the Lexus NX has caught my interest. I took one for a test drive a couple weekends ago and really liked the ride. However, my one concern is in the cargo space, it looked to be fairly small. I routinely take trips with my family where golf clubs and several suitcases (as well as miscellaneous junk) are needed and I'm not confident this will all fit in the trunk.

What is your experience with this?

Take your golf clubs and luggage to the dealership and see how it fits. I think it is a valid car test.

Good advice.
Another way is to make some measurements of your golf clubs and luggage and then measure the cargo space.

If you travel with only one passenger aside from yourself, i think with the rear seats folded down will provide adequate space.

Thank you both, that is a good idea and I will most likely do that. I actually live close to the dealer and they let us go out on our own so may even swing it by my house to do a "sample load". Yes, aware of the fold down but would be needed during family trips.

However, I'm also interested in some personal impressions on the capacity and personal experiences.

It's great you have a dealer like that which will let you take a vehicle out on your own.
I know some even let customers take vehicles for the whole day and experience it throughout their average day.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the cargo space? Or is willing to take measurements and post them up? I'm curious to know because the dealer in my area has none in stock so it would be quite hard to do a test with gear etc..

I cannot put golf bag sideway in my NX but on a diagonal way, its OK and still have room for 4 wheels cart

Mu bag is fairly large, by the way

The cargo space is something to be mindful of, but I don't think that the NX has much less cargo space than comparable vehicles. If you really feel like having more cargo space then you should consider the RX. Is that the alternative for you?

There we go.

I doubt it's going to be common for NX owners to have an NX full of passengers and a maxed out cargo space with more things to move in, if that will be the case often enough investing in a top box should be on your list.
